 To start the class off, we wrote a personal letter to god & posted it on blog. After, we started on a new novel called “The Color Purple”. I recognized the title from the movie, which I didn’t watch. We’ve been responding to the letters and stopped on letter 7.

 

 Today we wrote the definitions for our new vocab words. We’re on lesson 2 and it consists of 15 words. From memory, I remember the words beguile, besiege, & bland. After, we did exercise 1. Later, we reviewed the questions for “The Life You Save May Be Your Own.”

 Today we continued reading the story from yesterday, “The Life You Save May Be Your Own”. From memory, I remember the mother basically giving her mentally challenged daughter away for marriage. She even tried to lie about her daughter age. Later in the class, we took a vocab quiz that was very easy. It was 20 questions: 15 containing the synonyms & 5 being examples.

 Today we didn’t do much but start reading a story/article. The story/article is called “The Life You Save May Be Your Own.” There’s 3 characters and from memory, I recall the last old lady & daughter having the same name. The three characters were the old lady, the daughter, and Mr.Shiftlet.

 On this day, we were surprised with a quiz/assessment. The quiz was based off an article about teens addiction to video games and I was shocked about the statistics & facts. There was 15 questions: 5 multiple choice & 10 constructed responses. Though the quiz was easy, I did not finish due to my wi-fi going in & out but at least I got to #13 I believe.

 Just like yesterday, for our bell ringer we chose another 5 words out of our vocab and wrote sentences about them. We also read an article about avatars. One thing I have learned is more about our society now and how virtual reality impacted most of us. If I was to have an avatar, my avatar would have super powers such as invisibility, super speed, etc. To end the class off, we answered questions and shared it with the class.

 To start the date off, we chose 5 of the 15 vocab words and wrote sentences for each of them. After, we received an article about teen driving. I also learned how unsafe it is due to distractions.

Today we did vocabulary words. It was 15 words in today and we had to define, stated the part of speech, etc. Some of the words I can remember is: Adventitious, Amoral, Agape, etc. For closing, we completed Example 1.

 Happy birthday Chloe! On this day, we did nothing remarkable. It was a pretty chill day for us all but of course we still had work, but it was pretty easy. We took notes about citing textual evidence and examples of it.

 Today we analyzed a poem. The poem was called “Birches” by Robert Frost. Some vocab from the poem are childhood, adulthood, and heavens. A theme of the poem could be to remember the good times in your childhood (carefree times) to get your life back on track.

 

 Today we analyzed another poem. Todays poem was called “I Too” by Langston Hughes. The poem symboled many topics such as America, slavery, and etc. After we were told to write a paragraph about how our nationality defined us and the real world. Overall, todays lesson was very deep and sentimental.

 

 Today we analyzed a poem until class was cut short. But the poem we was reading is called “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes. A theme for this poem is: No matter how many curve balls life throws at you, do not give up.
